Gabby's Room

For Gabby's room in our new house, we're doing a flower fairy theme. She's already got a flowery Pottery Barn bedspread that will work well. I found these cute fairy wallies on ebay for those of us who are artistically challenged and can't paint our own fairies. They're from the artwork of Cicily Mary Barker, whose work I fell in love with in London. I also want to stencil "I do believe in fairies" somewhere in her room (I haven't decided yet where). Her room will be painted pink (I made the mistake of painting her current room pale yellow, which has caused many fits).

I've never heard of tatouage--do they break apart when you rub them onto a wall--that might be a little disturbing in a child's room to have half of a fairy in one place and another half somewhere else. Gabby minght have such thoughts as: "I didn't mean it when I said there was no such thing as fairies--I'm sorry, come back, come back . . .

I love the flower faeries. When my sister had her first child I started sending the flower faerie postcards to her as my sister had already planned a faerie theme for her bedroom. I still send them to her - it's a nice thing we have going, she knows that's her mail when she gets it, and sometimes asks me when I'm going to send the next one. It's sweet!
