So Oliver (the unborn child in case you were wondering--yup it's a boy) will be here in less than two weeks and I'm getting ready. I have all the boy-appropriate newborn clothes put away in the drawers, we'll be getting new carpet hopefully before he comes home, and the crib is set up--the only problem being that I got rid of the bedding that Alex and Gabby both used when they were in the crib (the dog being primarily responsible). Solution: get new bedding. What do you know, Pottery Barn recently came out with the cutest crib set I've seen from them in a long time. I've decided to pretty much re-do Alex's room (the orange is a little bright) and basically rip off the Pottery barn room (paint and all). Luckily, I still haven't bought the bedding I was originally planning on getting Alex, so I'll get him either a baby blue bedspread that matches the blue in the crib set I'll be getting Oliver or go wild and go with orange (I do love orange in boy's rooms, but I've learned that less is more when it comes to paint).
The other thing I did in preparation of our coming addition was to buy Oliver a coming home outfit (most, if not all of his clothes will be hand-me-downs from Alex, but I like bringing my babies home in something special. The Gap, which was my first stop didn't have a great selection of newborn clothes--I wanted something comfortable and baby-like. So, I headed to Gymboree (my new favorite kid's clothes store) and came across this cute monkey themed pajama with matching hat (not to mention it really goes well with his crib set). I was sold (and so was the outfit).

So, I think we're pretty much ready--we're aiming to have this baby tomorrow on 08/08/08 and the weather at least is on our side, looking rather stormy. So if the altitude when we were camping didn't put me into labor, maybe the change in barometric pressure will.

Yay for Oliver!! Could you do a dark blue for Alex and the baby blue for Oliver? I know you want Orange though.
Whatever it ends up being...I am sure it will look good.
Very cute!! I hope you are lucky enough to have Little Oliver today-although it looks doubtful because I saw you were on line earlier... Keep us posted!
Wow that is so exciting! I hadn't realized how close it was! The bedding is adorable, as is the outfit. Can't wait to welcome little Oliver into the world!
How fun! I love orange, I wonder about selling a house with such bold colors though. Anyway, have fun. I hope to see it, if not in person, then via blog.
Any baby yet??
not yet--hopefully soon though (I'm at a 5 and 90% effaced as of August 12th)
Is Oliver here yet??? I am sending good, fun labor vibes your way. I'm so excited about your recent news!! The Baby Gap has a new home line, it has some really cute bedding for the little ones. Oh, and Pottery Barn Kids is having a bedding sale. Okay. Love you lots. Can't wait to see little Oliver (Oh, man, I think the musical is always going to be in my head whenever I mention his name, oh well).
I love the rooom ideas! I adore a splash of orange in boys rooms. I'm a fan of the name Oliver too. The coming home outfit is just fabulous. Wow, I'm sure full of a lot of positive opinions today...let's just say great minds think alike ;)
